you do not wish to sell your music in CD
form, you can choose to sell only digital music.
Prior
to making this decision here are a few things you should
know:
1. In
the music-buying market only 5-10% of people paying for
digital downloads. Thus, shutting out 90% of your
potential audience may not be the best move for you.
2. Selling
your CD's over Liger Indie Music Distribution website
gives your fans the opportunity to buy your albums
whenever they'd like.
3. Many
people do not have broadband connections, so why would
you want to limit offering your music to those
who have the capability downloading?
If
you want to distribute digitally only here's what you
should do:
1. Mail
us 3 finished mastered copies of your music on regular
audio CD-Rs. (NO mp3, aiff, or wav. Just regular
audio CD.)
2. Sign
it up like any other album.
3. Pay
the $40 setup cost, and if you don't
have your own unique barcode for
the album, have us make you one for $30.
4. When
you mail the CD, be sure to specify that you are interesting
in digital distribution only.
5. Email
a 1000-by-1000 pixel TIFF file (RGB,
no compression) to Liger Indie Music Distribution, which
we can use as the album cover/artwork.
6. Your
album will be added to Liger Indie Music Distribution
like any other album. However, it will show up
on the CD section of our website as permanently
out of stock.
